The question I get most often isn't “what should I have embroidered”, it's “do I still have time”. Every piece is made to order. There's no stock of names, no ring holders sitting ready-made.
Here's the timeline I recommend, with no unpleasant surprises.
The real turnaround, plainly stated
2 to 3 weeks of studio time before shipping. After that, the parcel travels from Barcelona to France: allow another 2 to 4 business days once it's on its way. “Ready to ship” orders (kits, PDFs) go out faster. Custom pieces don't.
All told, to stay comfortable, set aside four weeks between clicking order and the day you want to give or use the piece.
For a birth
As soon as the name is chosen, you can order. No need to wait for the big day: the hoop gets put away, and parents are often too busy afterwards to think about a personalised gift.
- Baby registry / baby shower: order 4 weeks before the event.
- A gift for the maternity ward: as soon as the name is announced, not the week of the birth.
- Christening: the same 4 weeks, since the name is already known.
If the birth date isn't here yet, just embroider the name. You can always give a small card with the date afterwards.
For a wedding
The ring holder isn't a detail you sort out the night before. It's carried through the whole ceremony, photographed, sometimes entrusted to a page boy or flower girl.
I recommend ordering 5 to 6 weeks before the big day. That leaves time for the studio, for delivery, and for any back-and-forth on details (theme colours, initials, date).
January to June is when summer weddings get planned. If your date is in July, the right time to write is May — not the last week of June.
What if it's already tight?
Write to me before ordering if you're under 3 weeks out. I'll tell you honestly whether it's doable. I'd rather give you a clear no than have a piece arrive after the ceremony.
Check the timeline and order: birth, ring holder or another creation.
