Birth hoop: the gift you hang, not the one you put away

Tambour de naissance brodé au prénom, cadeau fait main Faïença

Many birth gifts end up in a cupboard: too big, too generic, already given twice. A hoop embroidered with the baby's name has a different fate. You lean it against a wall, near the bed or the changing table, and it stays visible.

That's exactly why I make these pieces on a 16 cm hoop: small enough to fit into any room, present enough that the name reads at a glance.

Why a hoop rather than a frame

No framing to arrange, no glass, no waiting at the framer's. The piece arrives ready. The wood of the hoop already forms the border. You hang it with a nail, a hook, or simply set it on a shelf.

For the parents, it's a useful object the day the parcel arrives. For you, giving it, it's a gift that requires no further decisions.

What we embroider

The name, exactly as it should appear, with or without accents, in full or as a nickname. Around it, a floral or fruity pattern, sometimes an animal, in the colours you choose.

Some families add the birth date in the notes. Others prefer just the name, more timeless if the hoop is meant to stay with the child for years.

A piece for the room, not a gadget

Hand embroidery has this rare quality: it doesn't look dated after six months. Cotton, silk or wool threads, and beaded Lunéville if you want more relief, last. It isn't just another soft toy. It's a small textile artwork bearing the child's name.

Prices start at €50 depending on the technique. Allow 2 to 3 weeks of studio time before shipping from Barcelona.
